Joanna Hay

Joanna Hay is an award winning filmmaker, independent arts consultant and community scholar, whose work is anchored in oral history.  Her film “Quest for the Perfect Bourbon” won a 2011 award from the Oral History Association, a Kentucky History Award and a Kentucky Travel award.  “Song of the Birds,” a film about Beaux Arts Trio cellist Bernard Greenhouse, was selected by Reuning Violins to tell the story of Greenhouse and his Stradivarius cello. Other projects include “The Changing Face of Squash,” “Horse Cave Stories” and “Stories From The Balcony.”  Funders for her projects include the National Endowment for the Arts, the Kentucky Humanities Council, the Kentucky Historical Society and the National Park Service/Preserve America.
