Flash Memory

Flash Memory: A kind of computer memory used to store data in thousands of applications. It is found in USB and SD drives (the picture shows an open USB drive – the larger black chip is the flash memory card). Allows for the easy transport of gigabytes of data and contains no moving parts, adding to the safety of flash memory systems. This has been common for audio for some time, however it is quickly becoming the standard way of recording digital video as well. [ Audio Glossary ] [ Video Glossary ]
