Frames Rate

Frames Rate: Frames per second (FPS). Measurement for video that involves measuring the number of frames passing by per second.  The human eye can perceive up to 10-12 individual images per second and still perceive individuality. However, faster frame rates such as 30 fps creates the illusion of motion that is undetectable to the human eye. Most common frame rates are 30fps and 24fps. 24fps is usually associated with a more cinematic or film look. [ Video Glossary ]
