Nondestructive Editing

Nondestructive Editing: Opposite of Destructive Editing. When edits are made to an audio or video file in a program that uses nondestructive editing, the audio or video file in question is not actually changed. The program just places markers in the file telling it to skip certain portions or to make whatever changes have been made. [ Audio Glossary ] [ Video Glossary ]
