DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM

DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM: Optical storage formats that served as the “data” alternative to the video encoded DVD. Could contain 4.7 Gigabytes of data until the multilayer variants emerged which increased capacity to 8.5 Gigabytes. Not recommended for preservation. [ Video Glossary ]
