Discovery

Discovery: Archival term for the act of a user or researcher finding and connecting to the information that they are seeking. Archives and archivists often work to enhance discovery through various means including enhanced metadata, search engine optimization, and housing metadata in a variety of access points. In an oral history context, this means “discovery” of the interview that may be useful, but also “discovery” of information embedded in the recorded interview. [ Archive Glossary ]
